We support the following local and national societies/groups:
Nigel Heptinstall publishes a blog on Yorkshire wildlife
Identification and recording
BTO BirdTrack – now the preferred way to report sightings of birds
British Bryological Society (BBS) – includes open access to identification guides to all British mosses and liverworts
iRecord – the Biological Records Centre service for recording observations of wildlife in the UK
iSpot – the Open University citizen science website where you can upload pictures of UK and Irish wildlife you cannot identify – others will often very quickly confirm their identity!
Yorkshire Moths – distribution maps of moths (macro and micro) throughout Yorkshire. Access is free – just create your own account, log in then start looking for species of moths (via the “Page Index”) and see their distribution in the county. A fantastically useful resource and regularly updated.
